Jing Zhiyuan

Jing Zhiyuan is a general in the Chinese People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China. His ancestors are from Linmu, in Shandong province, and he was born in Xiangfan city, in Hubei province.

Biography



Jing joined the People's Liberation Army in August of 1963. From November of 1985 to February of 1993, he served as the head of the base general staff and the deputy commander of the Second Artillery Corps. He became a major general in the PLA in July of 1990. From 1993 to February of 1999, Jing served as the commander of the base of the Second Artillery Corps. From 1999 to January of 2003, he served as the head of the general staff of the Corps and a member of the Communist Party of China standing committee for it. He became a Lieutenant General in July of 2000. In 2003, he returned to his previous post as commander of the Second Artillery Corps. In September of 2004, he was chosen to become a member of the . He was elevated to his present rank of General on September 25, 2004.
